SDK questions • Strating with the SDK

Hi everybody, I'm new in this forum and want to start creating my own app for a Philips Smart TV. So i've downloaded the appropriate SDK (v 5.0) from this site, but it's not clear for me where Do I have to write my own HTML and Javascript code? When i start the SDK it launches a Virtual machine that's like a browser.
Can anybody help me?

Smart TV Alliance is excited to announce release of its latest SDK version 5.0. This version of the SDK fully supports Smart TV Alliance Specification versions 5.0, 4.0, 3.0, 2.5 and 2.0, and replaces previous SDK version 4.0.

Hi Rjot,

thank you for reporting this issue to us. It seems to be a bug in the emulator, as I can reproduce it here for a list of simple href-links. It is not an issue in your app.

For now:
* using the arrow key is giving the same behaviour as the Down-key in the virtual keyboard. As long as you are not 'fast-clicking' multiple times, you can use the virtual keyboard. Otherwise, you can use the regular up-down-left-right keys.
* we will take this bugreport in for the next SDK development

SDK questions • Double Click on Emulator

Hi,
i have few lists in my app, and when i use keyboard to navigate app it's everything fine, but when i twice fast click on emulator button for eg.. "Down Button" then position skip 3 item instead 2.

Code bellow not help me

Code:: $('*').dblclick(function(e){ e.preventDefault(); })

Anyone know how to resolve this problem?

I thought I should follow up with this.

I got an e-mail with the answer to my problem. The issue was that the current version of the SDK is incompatable with a fully updated Java version. I downgraded java to 6u30 for windows x86 and now I'm no longer getting the error.

SDK questions • Testing app on LG smart TV

Hi,

we are in the process of porting our web TV app to the LG/smart TV alliance platform and we would like to try to run our opp on a LG TV.
As far as I understood the only way to do that is to run the HTML 5/Javascript app directly in the TV's browser (there is no packaging and installing on the TV?).

The problem we have is that in LG devices the browser seems to run in a \"mouse\" mode, The arrow key events are not triggered in the document, but are captured by the mouse pointer.

Is there a way to switch off the mouse pointer, so that the browser can trigger the key events in the document object? We are running several LG Smart TVs and on all of them the browser has the same behavior.

I have the same problem, bad develeopmentenvironment, bad user experience.
Smart TV alliance should make a set up video for every one, The doc \"[/b]Smart_TV_Alliance_SDK_Manual_4.0.0[b]\" is not enough for set up develeopment environment. Bad,Bad,Bad!

Hi everyone,

I'm having trouble getting started, and was hoping I could get some help.

I downloaded and installed the Smart_TV_Alliance_SDK_Win_4.0.0.exe file.
I downloaded the installed the VirtualBox-4.3.26-98988-Win.exe update
I downloaded and installed the latest version of Java.
I downloaded apache-tomcat-7.0.61-windows-x86.zip and unzipped it, and added the path to the unzip location into the server settings of Eclipse.

Then, I followed the instructions in Smart_TV_Alliance_SDK_Manual_4.0.0.pdf, I got as far as 3.2.10 \"Deploy to SDK\"

Essentially, I copied a sample app called \"video example\" and I try running it on the \"Tomcat v7.0 Server at Localhost [started, restart]\".
When I try to Deploy to SDK, I get an error that says \"There was an error while trying to deploy the file Reason: There was an error while trying to deploy the file Details: Connection refused: connect\".

I checked the sample app, and it does have an index.html, which I've read can cause troubles when missing.

I'm running Windows 8.1 if that's at all helpful. I'm sure this must be some common configuration error or mistake I'm encountering, but It's got me completely lost. Anyone encountered and overcome this yet?
