the Smart TV Alliance specification does not define a screen saver enabling/disabling function. As such, as a developer you do not need to control such functionality from your Smart TV Alliance specification based application.

Am I right in thinking there is no built-in API for enabling\disabling the device screen saver?

If not, do we need to implement our own? The project is a VOD app so we need to ensure the screensaver doesn't activate during playback.
