Hello,

Yes, supporting the pointer is mandatory for all Smart TV Alliance apps. All requirements mentioned in the list of QA requirements (https://developers.smarttv-alliance.org/qa-requirements) that are marked 'Requirement' must be implemented for an app to pass Smart TV Alliance QA.

Our agency has developed a full-featured Web App that is already been published on other Smart TV brands but has no support for any pointer device.

Actually our agency thinks a d-pad based interaction is easier and straightforward.

So our question is exactly as stated in the subject above: is supporting a pointing device really mandatory?
This is actually a blocking requirement on our side...
