Joining Smart TV Alliance

The Smart TV Alliance has created a structured organization with three tiers of membership in order to provide a range of benefits that meet the needs of the different types of organizations in the Smart TV ecosystem.

The benefits enable different levels of participation, organizational leadership roles, marketing opportunities, and certification abilities. These different benefits allow an organization to choose the membership level that best matches its strategy and objectives.

The three levels of membership are:

How To Join

Membership fees are for a 12-month period, renewable on the anniversary date of the membership contract.

Governance Documents

The following are the documents that govern the membership, operation, and management of the Smart TV Alliance:

Community Level: $5,000

To join the Smart TV Alliance as a Community Member, you will need to:

  1. Review the Governance Documents.
  2. Complete the Membership Agreement in full and have it signed by an authorized employee of your company.
  3. Complete the Online Membership Application.
  4. Email, fax or send the completed and signed membership agreement to the address below:

  5. The Smart TV Alliance office will then issue an invoice (to the billing and primary contacts indicated in the online membership application).
  6. Once payment is received by the Smart TV Alliance office, then the membership joining process will be complete and your company may then participate in Smart TV Alliance activities and have access to the Smart TV Alliance Member Portal.

Contributor Level: $25,000 for >= 500 employees, $15,000 for < 500 employees, or $7,500 for < 100 employees

To join the Smart TV Alliance as a Contributor, you will need to:

  1. Review the Governance Documents.
  2. Complete the Membership Agreement in full and have it signed by an authorized employee of your company.
  3. Complete the Online Membership Application.
  4. Email, fax or send the completed and signed membership agreement to the address below:

Sponsor Level: $50,000 ($125,000 for Board Members)

To join the Smart TV Alliance as a Sponsor, you will need to:

  1. Review the Governance Documents.
  2. Complete the Membership Agreement in full and have it signed by an authorized employee of your company.
  3. Complete the Online Membership Application.
  4. Email, fax or send the completed and signed membership agreement to the address below:

  5. At the next scheduled meeting or conference of the Smart TV Alliance Board of Directors, the Board will review your application and vote whether or not to approve membership.
  6. Once the Board approves the membership application, the Smart TV Alliance office will then issue an invoice (to the billing and primary contacts indicated in the online membership application).
  7. Once payment is received by the Smart TV Alliance office, then the membership joining process will be complete and your company may then participate in Smart TV Alliance activities and have access to the Smart TV Alliance Member Portal.

Note: once you become a Sponsor-level member, you may also apply to the Smart TV Alliance Board of Directors if you so desire. If the Board approves your application to join the Board, your company will have to pay an annual Board-level Premium of $75,000.
